Combine softened butter, brown sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon and vanilla in a bowl and combine thoroughly using an electric hand mixer or stand mixer. Transfer batter to an airtight container or jar or form it into a 2-inch wide log and wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate until ready to use. This will keep for about 1 month.

Make your Hot Buttered Rum Drinks
In a mug, combine dark rum, hazelnut liqueur, 1 tablespoon of hot buttered rum batter and 5oz of boiling water and stir with a spoon or cinnamon stick. When butter is melted, enjoy!
